KeepBuds is a Mac app made by PIXELHORIZONPLAY LTD ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what stays on your Mac.
What stays on your Mac
To decide when your Mac may take your AirPods, KeepBuds looks at which app starts playing sound, whether the microphone is in use, your Bluetooth headphones' status and battery, and, if you use them, your Wi-Fi network name and the time of day. If you turn on the meeting reminder, it also reads when your calendar events end. All of this is checked on your Mac. KeepBuds never records audio, and none of it is sent to us or anyone else.
What we collect
- Your purchase. Stripe runs checkout and collects your payment details, name and billing address. We never see your card. Stripe sends us your email address, your plan (Yearly or Lifetime), whether it's active, the renewal date, and Stripe's reference numbers for the purchase.
- Activating a Mac. When you turn KeepBuds on, the app sends your email (or your checkout reference) and a device code. The device code is a one-way scrambled form of your Mac's hardware ID, so we can count your Macs (up to 10) without learning anything about the Mac itself.
- Sign-in codes. When you restore a purchase, we email you a 6-digit code. We keep only a scrambled copy of it, for 10 minutes.
- License checks. About twice a day the app renews its license with our server, sending the license and the device code. Like any website, our hosting provider sees your IP address when this happens.
The website doesn't use cookies, analytics or ads.
Who handles it
- Stripe processes payments and acts as the merchant of record, which means it also handles sales tax, VAT and receipts.
- Resend sends our emails (sign-in codes and license emails).
- Cloudflare hosts this website, the download and our license server.
We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your license and device codes for as long as your license exists, so you can restore it on a new Mac. Signing out a Mac in KeepBuds deletes its device code. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing hello@keepbuds.com from the address you bought with. If we delete your license data, you won't be able to restore your purchase afterwards.
Children
KeepBuds isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also email customers.
